The QlikView Business Intelligence platform is available as an
on-premise or as a cloud solution.
Which version is right for you?
Each version does, of course, have its own merits. With the private cloud (where QlikView runs on a physical or virtual server located on your premises) there is no need to provision infrastructure or manage security. Also, automated upgrades are installed seamlessly. This option is generally preferred by smaller organisations with limited IT resources.
The on-premise version is typically better suited to larger organisations which can manage a higher total cost of ownership and which prefer to manage their own infrastructure support, security and maintenance.
In determining whether to go with the on-premise or private cloud version it would be instructive to look at where the source data is located. If the source data is located on your premises then data transfer costs may need to be considered.
Whichever version you opt for, Professional Advantage is well-qualified to be your QlikView solution provider. Our QlikView consultants are highly skilled and have strong experience with the QlikView platform.
